Remembrance Run – 2’977 kilometres

A group of Australian fire-fighters, police and their families have come together for a new era of philanthropy, investing their time and money to highlight significant events/issues/efforts in the world. Leading up to 10 Years since 9/11, a number of Australian police, fire-fighters and their families will be gathering a symbolic total of 2,977 kilometres from police, fire and public in major cities across Australia and America recording the details in the official ‘Ledger’. This is a unique and beautiful remembrance run which showcases the universal unity amongst emergency service workers. We will remember all the victims of the 9/11 tragedy including those who lost their lives helping others. We will also acknowledge the great works performed by emergency service workers (police, fire, nurses, ambos, doctors, volunteers).

Our community events will allow all participants to record their details in ‘The Ledger’ giving them an opportunity to contribute and show their support.

Morning has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.
