Australia Remembers

‘The Ledger’

This book was acquired through the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Transit Police Station and kindly donated by Detective Senior Constable David Logan. These types of books are very rare and have been superseded by computers and personal diaries. This book was used as a ‘Duty Book’, detailing particular duties of Detectives performing day to day duties. We have called this book ‘The Ledger’.

‘The Ledger’ will be used during our recorded run events recording details of police, firefighters, family and sponsors in the Run To Remember 9/11, 10 Years On, 2011 recording each kilometre towards our symbolic total of  2’977 kilometres.

Our first recorded run event is being held on Sunday the 25th April (ANZAC Day), 2010. We share this day with a day that is dear in our hearts. ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) is a day where Australia Remembers the young Australian soldiers who fought for this beautiful country.

The only way to obtain a reputation of courage, loyalty, dependability and trustworthiness is through deeds and experience. We are forever grateful for the brave souls who displayed these qualities in their duties. Soldiers waiting in the trenches for the call to charge knowing their life would be taken. And the police, firefighters and paramedics who attended the World Trade Center climbing the stairs knowing the end result.
